Photo Field Trip Complete

Took my trip to the city to shoot some Photos for Photography 2 for Pat. Got some really cool shots off the top of the Empire State building and around the city. It’s a great place to shoot with endless supply of interesting subjects. Took some in China town of the street vendors selling fish, and some undergroung subway shots. I got a good shot of the train as it went speeding by. Nice motion shot. Overall the photos were interesting. The weather was great and the food was awesome. Great Day.!!!! Great way to finish the semester.

Photo Field Trip

We are taking our field trip to the city on the 24th of April and we are required to take at least a hundred shots. Thank god the weather is finally decent. Last field trip it was sub zero with wind. Looking foward to the trip, I’ll post some of the photos I took after I get them developed. Fun class if you are looking to get into something creative, and fun.

World of Warcraft

Tried the game WOW last week took a while to load and to figure out the basics. I got some help with the basics and have been playing just to do something a little different than making web pages . It is an incredibly interesting game with no end to what you and the game can do. What amazes me the most is that someone can actually write this stuff. The graphics are incredible and I highly recomend you trying it out. It’s fun and very challenging so you will never get bored. Give it a whirl.

The Church site.

The site has some interesting stuff on it and came out quite good and has a lot of content for a Church with less than 12 people in it. I have mp4 videos of the pastor’s sermons, a prayer request form that gets sent to his e-mail address, some cool animations, and dozens of hyperlinks to pertinent information that is Church based. Things like and on-line bible, links to other ministers sites, informational sites, I have it linked to a site that will refresh the daily bible verse each day, a link to WBBP Radio Memphis so that you can listen gospel music while you surf the churches web-site. There are also links to videos of the pastor singing and giving a welcome message. I feel I was very creative in making a lot out of a little sort of like Jesus with the 2 loaves of bread and five fishes.

Web style Books!

Been reading the web-site books that Rich assingned for us to read and really like the smaller book called Web Style Guide 2. I came across some information in the We Graphics section of the book that My friend Scott and I were having a problem with and it helped us with it. The problem was that he is a chiropractor and has to send x-ray picture via Skype or E-mail and they were not coming out the way he needed them to. The book talked about the Gamma setting for graphics and after we scaned some x-rays and loaded them into Photoshop CS I played with the Gamma which adjusted the contrast between the mid-level gray of the image. The x-rays are all in black and whitw so this worked realy well in adjusting the contrast until he was happy with the image. I was a simple solulution but it was the answer we were looking for.

The Church site is almost done! Thank God!

I am meeting with Pastor Dave on Monday the 9th at the house and I am going to show him the site and see what he thinks. We will go through the whole site and I will make all the adjustments that I need to and have him tell me what he would like added. After fine tuning it some more I hope to be able to hand the Finished web-site to Mike Fisher and have he grade it so that I can have one class completed. That way I can concentrate on the other 4. I have a 30-40 page business plan for E-commerce, My portfolio site for Rich, Photography Portforlio to complete which should take about 40-50 hours and my Net-stores site completed. Gone work ahead and hopefully my instructors will be okay in accepting my work early.

Portfolio validated form.

I have the form completed in VB and also have one done in PHP. I am still having a hard time uploading every thing to the server I keep getting error messages. I am going to show it to Rich and hopefully we can hash things out. I also have some Java Script completed in the site so those two pre-requisites are also complete. I will keep fine tuning the site and hopefully it will soon be done so that I can get some of my other finals completed also.

The Flash Content for the Portfolio Site.

Part of the assignment for the Portfolio Site is to incorporate two flash pieces. One has to be 1 minute long with a sound track that I have to create using Acid 2.0 music creating program and the other has to be a 30 second animation. The first one took me many hours to complete and to incorporate the music into it with music that would  compliment my flash theme. The theme of my flash presentation is Creation and it is something that I can use for My field work web-site called New Vision Church. I have various Photos depicting the creation according to Genesis 1 in the bible. By the time I got it completed I actually had more than a minute of content and like the way it came out. The second flash presentation is about 50 seconds long and is a photo slide show with captions of some floral pictures I took last summer. This was a fun thing to do even though I was’nt quite sure in the beginning how it would work out. Overall it’s pretty good and I am relieved that that part of the project is done. I am trying to work ahead because I know when it comes down to the wire things get a little hairy.

Portforlio Datatbase

After many attempts of connecting my form to a database using ASP I have finally connected and am happy with the layout of the form and the Page. Adding the accent of burgandy and black to the dark blue pages makes the layout of the page much more visullay appealing. Rich had to delete some of the files that were enbedded in the server but with some dilegence he got it to work and I am connecting and writing to the database . It is a feedback form and I incorporated it on my JKR Graphics Portfolio Website.
